New York Among Strangers is series of 36 small-scale “sketchbook” style paintings that reflect on a post-pandemic understanding of how people exist in public space, how retrospect can describe the effects of a tragedy before it ever occurred. These digital watercolors were created in 2023 from sketches, pictures, and memories of a single day spent in New York City in 2016.
