NaNoWriMo 2016

Hey Reader!

It’s that time of year again… you know, when the weather gets cooler and hot chocolate is more acceptable to drink. School is back in session, the leaves are getting ready to fall… But none of that really matters at the moment. Something a lot bigger is on the way…

NaNoWriMo is almost here!!!

For those of you who don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, it stands for National Novel Writing Month. It’s an organization whose goal is to get those words in your head to paper. Anyone can participate in it: all you have to do is write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. They raise money for some good causes, so go check it out!

Yes, I will again be participating in National Novel Writing Month. This will be my second year doing it, and I’m super excited. Last year I wrote Holding My Breath, and there’s been a lot of talk about what I’m doing this year. Honestly, I still haven’t decided, but I’ll be sure to announce that on October 15th. I’m kind of torn between the sequel for HMB and another idea I have…

Anyway, during the month of November, I’m going to be blogging every weekday just like I did last year. A while back I said I was going to make some changes to my blog, start posting some new things, but that’s been slow-going so far. Please remember that I am a student (who has too much homework all the time) and that takes precedence over my writing and blogging always.

Nevertheless, I’m here now:)

Also: 60 Days of Salt and Sand was published two weeks ago! So if you haven’t had a chance to check that out yet, go to the books tab! The ebook is having some distribution problems, but it should be everywhere in the next week at least. I know the kindle edition is already released, but Barnes and Noble hasn’t gotten it yet. Sorry for that inconvenience (out of my control).

So to summarize, I’m going to start posting some more about planning for NaNoWriMo, some tips, and methods I’m using, some helpful resources, that kind of thing.

Oh yeah, and your challenge is to go check out NaNoWriMo’s website! See if it’s something you are interested in getting involved in, and if it is, we can do it together!

Just wanted to give everyone an update on what’s going on. Thanks for reading and don’t stop writing!

XO, Kelli.

  1. I’m pumped! I have an idea for NaNoWriMo– although it will be a more small-scale project to suit my time constraints, because, like you, I am a student 😉

Wish us both luck! November 1 draws ever nearer.
