So I’m going to be giving you a few updates today and we will bet back into the roll of things Monday. First, I’m about to finish writing my first draft this weekend and order a copy!
Brief writing tip: Try working at least one of your drafts by having your manuscript printed out and with a different font than what you typed it with. It will give the whole story a different dynamic and perspective if you’ve been staring a screen for a while.
I challenge all of you to try editing your first draft in a different format than you wrote it in. And if you won NaNoWriMo, then you get a free copy of your book from FastPencil, so why not get a copy? So it’s not your final draft, but you’ll get to see what it might look like. So it might not be a professional cover. The physical copy of your book will go through as many drafts as the words in the book.
I should write another post about that.
I’m a student, so there will be days that I’ll be too loaded on homework too write a blog post. Quite honestly, that would be what happened this week, along with feeling like sleeping for a week after writing for a month straight. Please be patient if I post a few of these blogs late or skip a day. I don’t think it will happen that often, but I an’t promise anything except that I’ll try.
Next week, I’m going to try and write every weekday like I’ve been doing. Everything that I had been putting off during off during NaNoWriMo is catching up to me… but I think I’m bouncing back now.
I’ll still be sharing my writing experiences. I’ll still be challenging you all with writing tips. But I’m just not sure what other doors this blog can open… contests? Prompts? Features? If you have ideas, comment them below!
Honestly, this thing has taken off so fast that it kind of scares me, but I’m going to try and keep improving for you all!
And thanks to all of you who have followed this blog and on Twitter! You all are so amazing! What are we at now… 2k?
Other announcements: I might do some kind of blog special for the holidays… maybe. Don’t get your hopes up, but I’m coming up with some ideas.
The Beta Reading. Like I said in my last post, there are still some kinks to iron out in that plan, but I’ve got it mostly pulled together. And it isn’t for months, so there’s plenty of time to fix those things. I’m going to work on it a little longer, and will probably release the details in… a week? Probably sooner…
I’ll actually end up writing a whole blog post about it, and you can keep track on twitter. I’ll tweet about it. I tweet about everything.
That’s it for today! I’ll go back to my regular posting schedule next week, but please be a little patient with me… There is less blogging material floating around my brain when I’m not trying to write 100k in 30 days. But I have ideas, so don’t leave!
Like this post if you liked it, and you can follow my website via email, WordPress, or any of the social media widgets on the side. If you are reading this on Goodreads, then you can follow me or add me as a friend!
Thank you for reading, and don’t stop writing!
