Last year (On October 15, 2013), I decided to write a book. Yes, I just sat down and thought, “I should write a book.” Have you ever done that? I’ve said this to myself many times and have never lived up to it, unable to find a story good enough to be written.
But that’s just where I went wrong. Every story deserves to be written, and it just depends on how it’s developed that makes the story interesting, or mind blowing, or enjoyable enough to read.
So here’s what I’m going to do: I’ve been recording everything I learn about writing in the last year that I’ve been dedicated to it. At first I kept this on paper, which worked out great, but now I want to share what I’ve learned with other writers who are just starting off, like myself. I will be sharing my dilemmas, my struggles, things I love and hate about anything you could think of in writing.
I’m going to try to post a new entry every Saturday, and am going to try to cover everything from ideas to revisions. This way, even if I take a break from short stories while I edit my bigger works, I’ll still be posting regularly.
I hope that someone might be able to get something out of this to help make them a better writer, or even inspire them to write their own stories.
PS: In other words, this is how to write for dummies. And yes, I am one of the dummies:)
